Life drawing

I thought my painting was a bit slow and stiff, so, to try to get faster and looser I joined an uninstructed life drawing group called People Sketchers. That was in September 2021 and I've been drawing with them most Thursdays since.

Over a three hour period we draw multiple poses ranging from 2 to 20 minutes each. The the session is divided into 20 minute blocks with 5 minute breaks in between.

The blocks consist of:

  • ten 2 minute poses
  • four 5 minute poses
  • two 10 minute poses
  • 20 minute poses from then on

I mainly use sanguine and chalk on toned paper.
